How to play Reversi
Reversi (also called Othello) is played on an 8×8 board with black and white discs. Black moves first. Tap a highlighted square to place your disc and flip all opponent discs you bracket in a straight line—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
If you cannot move, your turn is skipped. When neither player can move, the game ends and the player with more discs wins.
Play vs AI or 2 Players on the same device. Valid moves glow on the board; black is always Player 1, white is the AI or Player 2.
Tips to win
- Corners cannot be flipped—take them when you safely can.
- Avoid placing discs next to corners early unless it secures the corner itself.
- Limit your opponent’s mobility: fewer valid moves for them is often better.
- Disc count matters most at the end—sometimes sacrificing discs mid-game opens strong flips.
